In late 2017 and early 2018, the Government of Myanmar finalized approvals at the Union level for each of Locrian’s Integrated Exploration Licence Applications in the highly prospective Shan State.
Locrian won hard-earned consideration as an early applicant for large concession areas in two prospective jurisdictions within East Shan. In 2017, a Forestry Review was completed on one block, and we will soon embark on the second Forestry Review on the second, larger Application.
In April 2018, Locrian travelled with the State Government for Field Reviews on its Applications, meeting with, consulting with, and presenting to local communities to ensure a greater understanding exists on the nature of Mineral Exploration in communities within our Application Areas. Importantly, Locrian stresses the minimal impacts resulting from early-stage geologic exploration work – including sensitivity to Environmental concerns in Myanmar, and Locrian’s interest in working with the local communities to ensure an understanding of and sensitivity toward their communities and cultures.
Following Community Engagement in East Shan, and approvals at the State Level, Locrian’s Applications move back to the Union government for final reviews and approvals. More information will be forthcoming as matters advance on our Licence Applications.
